In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused significant issues in Armenia in all facets of life.  One of the most concerning areas was in the area of education.  Many of the university students in Armenia attended classes either remotely via the internet, or a combination of remote and in school.

With this unprecedented situation the AEF Board committed to match funds 50/50 to supply laptops to all existing and all newly awarded scholarship recipients who did not have adequate laptops. At the time, AEF had approximately 600 scholarship recipients for the school year, and estimated that about 50% did not have adequate laptop technology and unfortunately would not be able to attend classes because of that.

Thus far, 256 laptops have been distributed to students in need.
