Computers

The “AEF Computer in Every School Program” was started in 2009. The program’s goal is to ensure Armenia’s elementary and high school students learn how to use the latest information technology so that they are able to leverage that knowledge to gain high paying jobs and help Armenia further its development as a country.

As of January 2013, through generous donations from its members and supporters, the AEF has delivered over 110 computers to 55 AEF renovated schools in Armenia, Artsakh, and Javakhk. Those deliveries include computer hardware, software, and professional training. The computers are placed directly in the computer lab for each school to enable access for all students.

Unlike most other computer donation programs the “AEF Computer in Every School Program” provides not only computers and printers, but also provides integrated software programs, along with the necessary computer training to the teachers in the villages.  The program uses the strategy of training the trainers, who then go to their respective students and train them on how to utilize the technology.

AEF targets a specific region for each round of computer delivery and trainings; teachers are brought to the designated city from nearby villages and are provided room and board for a period of 6 weeks while they participate in the training program.

Both the village teacher and student training curriculum are developed specifically to address the needs of elementary and high school children in the villages.  Upon successful graduation, each teacher is given two computers and a printer to be used for training students. AEF has worked closely with Microsoft Armenia and the GyumriInformationTechnologyCenter to develop the course and obtain the needed Microsoft software at no cost for the program.

If you would like to help educate young Armenians in Armenia, Artsakh, and Javakhk you can make a donation to the “AEF”.  $1200 delivers two computers, 1 printer, software and training.

100% of your donation will go directly to funding additional computer deliveries into AEF renovated school.

Thank you for your support.

Reconstructions in Armenia, Artsakh, and Javakhk

In December of 1988, when a devastating earthquake struck Armenia, the AEF decided to construct schools in the disaster region. AEF sponsored the reconstruction of Krashen village elementary school and kindergarten. Also, Savey and Ralph Tufenkian donated and rebuild the Richard Tufenkian school, Gumri Number 5. For the commemoration of AEF’s 50th anniversary, the AEF board decided to renovate 50 schools in the border villages of Armenia, Artsakh and Javakhk. Due to the unprecedented support of schools sponsors, the program was completed successfully, and the AEF Board decided to continue the school renovation program. Since 1994, AEF has funded projects in Armenia totaling over $3,500,000 dollars including Stepanakert Number 3 – Richard Tufenkian School, Stepanakert Number 4 and the building and renovation of over 11 schools in Armenia, Artsakh, and Javakhk.
